Klein Concert: A Report from a Math-Musical Classroom Experience

Can music help mathematical education? Can some shapes, that challenge visual imagination, be translated into music? I present a pedagogical application of my interdisciplinary research. This concerns a cycle of seminars about mathematics and music I gave in Italy at the Music Conservatory of Palermo and that, in a shortened version, I also gave at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, at the Conservatory of Livorno, and in the UK, at the University of Greenwich. Tā kā saskaņā ar sabiedrības gaidām kompetenču pieeja izglītības sistēmā paredz aktivizēt sociālos un uzvedības komponentus – attieksmes, emocijas, vērtības un motivāciju, arī skolas kora darbībā pilnveidojama skolēnu emocionālā inteliģence (EI) un vērtību sistēma. Overview of development lines of music teaching methods in Finland

This article provides a cross-sectional overview of the evolution of music teaching methods over a 160-year timeline. The objective of the study is limited to examining the mainstream trends in the development of methods, or their manifestations, as well as discussing the causes behind them. The objective is also to investigate the methodical state of the 21st century teaching. The data consists of previous studies, music textbooks and learning diaries of class teacher students (N=79).
